What to expect…
THE PEOPLE
CBC is a racially diverse congregation of young families, singles, and those not quite so young any more. Our congregation represents all walks of life… blue-collar, white-collar, homemakers, etc., all one in Christ. We meet in a one hundred year old small white traditional-looking church building, but inside are regular people who are alive with personal stories of struggle and how Christ has changed their life.
MUSIC
Our services include a mix of traditional hymns and contemporary worship songs. Accompaniment varies from organ to electric guitar and drums. We believe that the church is for everyone, that grandchild and grandparent should be able to worship together, appreciate each other’s styles and differences, and learn how to love one another in the process.
STRUCTURE OF SERVICES
The emphasis of our time together is for worship, praising God and opening our hearts to Him. Consequently, our services consist of singing praise to the Lord (generally about 20 minutes) and hearing the Word of God taught (generally about 40 minutes). Preaching is through books of the Bible, explaining verse by verse the meaning and practical applications for every day living.
FAQ’s
How should I dress?
CBC invites all who are interested in hearing the Word of God to come, and
does not require a certain type of dress to attend. You will find a wide
variety of attire here, from casual wear to suits and ties. We invite you
to wear whatever you are comfortable with, using your good judgment in
regard to appropriateness and modesty.
How many people attend CBC?
Typical Sunday services attendance is 35 people in the 8:30 service and
115 in the 11:00AM service. We have a membership of about 70 active
members.
What do you have for kids?
Nursery (ages 0-3) is provided during both church services. There is a
children’s church provided at the 11:00AM service for ages 4 through 3rd
grade. That children’s church program runs during the sermon time, so
children sit with their parents in the service until they are dismissed
just before the sermon.
Truth for Life Classes meets every Sunday at 9:45 during the months of September
through June. Classes for all ages are provided, up to and including
adult.
What are CBC’s doctrinal beliefs?
Please see “what we believe” link.
What is CBC’s denomination?
CBC is an independent, non-denominational church.
